Helping dogs learn new behaviors — stay in place exercises are especially important

Sassy Dog class is for dogs that are aggressive toward other dogs, people or are fearful of other dogs or people or that are acting in a dominant manner toward people or dogs or a combination of those behaviors.

Basic obedience is the foundation for work in the Sassy Dog Class, but developing new behaviors for the dog requires a commitment beyond those basic classes.

Aggression always escalates unless one takes steps to curb it and help the dog develop other behaviors. Without intervention, the dog’s behavior will get worse, and the dog will get more set in his/her ways. It will be increasingly hard to change his/her behavior.

You must be a building member to participate in our Sassy Dog class.  We require that because one will not be able to correct these problems and develop new, acceptable behaviors in eight or even 16 weeks time. People who have sassy dogs will require more training, and it will take longer. People need to make that commitment to their dogs through Building Membership.
